Super Smash Bros Ultimate is one of the best games out of the smash series; it is a crossover fighting game compatible with the Nintendo switch. The game has impressive graphics/gameplay and has a sense of nostalgia to it as all the characters in previous Nintendo games are available in Smash. Each character has different: fighting techniques, defences, and power moves, some more skillful in certain areas than others. Shortly after receiving the game, players soon found more "weak" characters in fighting than others. That is why today, we will talk about the top 5 best and strongest characters to use during combat in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
5. Pikachu
When first loading up the game, players will soon realize they begin with eight starter characters and fight to unlock the rest of the other playable characters in the game; Pikachu is one of those characters. Not only is Pikachu a unique starter character to use, but Pikachu is also potentially powerful enough to beat any character in the game. Pikachu's strong thunderbolt move can blow anyone away standing above him, and Pikachu's dash attack is one of the best actions. The dash attack has been improved from previous smash games, improving: the damage, range, and knockback, making it a good finishing move.
4. Kirby
Kirby is another powerful starter out of the eight characters; unlike any other character in the game, Kirby can swallow any player in the game and gain the ability to use their special attack moves. This can be very useful in a group battle when many players are in combat; this gives you the advantage to use unique activities and finish your opponents once and for all. Kirby also has a mighty hammer with a massive range of knockback; the longer you hold and power up the hammer before striking your opponent, the more influential the attack. Kirby is powerful and can inflate and save the player from falling off the map; this can be useful for many levitating maps.

Link is yet another starter character when first receiving the game, fun fact; Kengo Takanashi, the person who voiced Link in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, has stepped up and also took the role to voice Link in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Link is a fantastic character to play; he is an excellent swordsman who can take care of enemies either close or afar. Link can shoot arrows across the map to strike targets while avoiding any danger from other players; this can be helpful when your character has already taken a substantial amount of damage. Holding the switch joystick up and pressing the A button simultaneously unleashes one of Link's most powerful moves. This move allows Link to trap players and get a chance to swing his sword at enemies three times while other players are getting turned at; they cannot attack you if you are hitting them. Although, like any other move in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, you have to time your moves perfectly; otherwise, characters will be able to dodge your attacks.
2. Bowser
Bowser is an all-mighty character who can really pack a punch; Bowser can use his strong moves to turn offense into defense to change the game to the player's advantage. All Super Mario franchise lovers know Bowser as a large scaly monster with a spikey shell attached to his back; why not use that shell to your advantage. Bowser has an attack move that allows himself to spin and cause damage to any player nearby; this move can be handy when either a group or singular players are close. Bowser's action can be convenient to get a KO in the game; Bowser can grab any player, jump high up in the air, and crush the player when landing back on the ground. The best part about this move is that you can control where Bowser is going to land. This means that you can attempt to land on other characters besides the one you just grabbed to get more than one KO.
1. Meta Knight
Meta Knight is by far one of the best players in the Smash game; this character is very much overpowered with the characters: high speeds, ability to fly, and an attack sword, it's almost game over before the match even begins. Meta knight is a speedy player that can sometimes trick other players. Meta Knight has an unusual move that can make himself disappear for a couple seconds and then strike your opponent with a full-force hit from his sword. This can easily become a KO if the other players are high in damage. Meta Knight also can drill any character from one side of the map to the further, causing damage to every player caught in your vortex. Although it may not be playing fair, you are playing to your advantage when you use that move to drill characters out of the map to get a win.
