Do you ever get frustrated playing Rainbow Road on Mario Kart? Well, imagine how Mario must feel and all of the road rages he has to deal with.
It's almost the beginning of the race; I know I am going to win; I have already come in first place for the last three races, so there is no doubt in my mind that I won't for this race. Although this is a rainbow road so I can't let my guard down. After all, it's me, Mario; this is my game. I know the tracks the best, I know what vehicle is the speediest, and I know everyone's secret tactics. I have 45 points so far, which means I only need 15 more to take the win and defeat the crown cup. The race is about to begin; I have to press on the gas correctly. Otherwise, I won't get that unique boost I need in the beginning. If I press A on the count of three, I will accelerate naturally. If I press A on the count of two, I will get a speed boost when taking off. While if I encourage A on the count of one, my engine will fail, and it will take a longer time for me to catch up with everybody else.
It's almost time to start; I am so nervous; I can't mess up whatever I do. Everyone is lined up behind my I am, of course, at the very front because I have the most points. I looked down at the multi-colored track below me before Lukitu blocked my vision with the countdown. The number three appears across the screen, "not yet, I tell myself," the number then switches to the number two, "now," I say to myself. But I was too late. Before I know it, all the other characters race past me, and I am left behind try to get my engine to start. When I finally get my car to cooperate with me, I'm on my way. I am only a couple of seconds behind everyone else. The first large turn is headed my way; if I wanted to catch up to everybody, I would have to drift to pick up speed. As I start to drift, I can see other players falling off the map one-by-one. There goes Daisy, Peach, Yoshi, and Bowser. I hit an item box, it's a red shell. I'm in second place and see Luigi far from me; I shoot my red shell; it's a direct hit. I pass Luigi and steal first place, finishing the first lap.
I'm halfway through the second lap, and I'm quite a distance from all the other players; I know that I will win this. Right as I said that, I got a notification that a blue shell is on my tail and picking up speed. Oh no. Thankfully I could reach the second lap before the blue shell could make contact. The blue shell finally reaches me, spins around my head a couple times, then blows up. Other players catch up to me and start to crash into me; this is getting worse. Luigi then crashes into me at full speed, and I go flying off the track. As I slowly fall to my doom, I look up and see Luigi give me a smirk; I just know that was revenge for hitting him with that red shell earlier. Once I respawn back on the track, I look at my placement, and I am dead last. This filled me with rage.
I can see an item box not too far from me; I drive as fast as possible to see what I will get. As the items are rolling across my screen, I am praying it will help me get back to where I was before. Bullet Bill appears; I have never pressed my bumper so fast in my life. I instantly transform into a bullet zooming past all the other players knocking each and every player that crosses my path off of the track. I can see the finish line getting closer and closer; Luigi is in front of me. I crash into Luigi right before hitting the finish line sending him flying so far off the map to never be seen again. I finish the race in the nick of time, placing myself first. I finally won the game.
